The form taken by our website is in compliance with the legal requirements of the Federal Data Protection Law. Consent/voluntary contribution of data: There will be no automatic collection/storage, processing or use of data obtained from your visit to our website without obtaining your express content. If you ask us for a personal quotation for a product, you need only enter the data for this voluntarily.
Use of personal details for advertising by Euler Hermes: you can at any time refuse to allow your personal data to be used or passed on for advertising purposes.
Temporary cookies for the purpose of regulating an internet session or cookies which remain active after the session in question is completed are not used by us.

The storage, processing and use of data
When we wish to store, process or use data obtained from your visit to our website, we will inform you of this fact. The decision about what personal data we receive and for what purpose we may process or use it is yours. In order to continually improve our website and the service it provides, we collect statistical information e.g. about the number of visits to each individual website. The information retained comprises the type and version of browser used, operating system, internet provider, date and time of access as well as calculation data. This information is used exclusively for internal purposes and is not related to any personal identification.
We only collect data which makes a person identifiable via our public websites for processing and use when you voluntarily decide in favour of such an entry or declare expressly that you consent to it. In most cases such personal details are needed to make a product quotation you ask for. In this case the details are either passed on to the relevant department inside Euler Hermes or deleted after three months at the latest.
Details given by you in an application for a product quotation lead to storage of the details of the application with the relevant company of the Euler Hermes Group.
Details given by you when making a claims notification are transformed into an internal notification which leads to the registration of the claim or may result in our claims managers contacting you or your customer.
We collect data on closed user groups for personally identified processing and use in as far as this is covered by the purpose defined by their contractual or fiduciary relationship wth us or to the extent that they have give their express consent either electronically or in writing (e.g. in an application for insurance etc.). There is no compilation of data obtained from your visits to the websites of Euler Hermes. Each time you download a file from our websites the access data are stored. Each such dataset consists of:
- the filename
- the IP address
- the date and time of the request
- the size of the file transmitted
- the access status (file transferred, file not found etc.)
- a description of the type of browser used.
Any compilation of user profiles is excluded. No transfer of data, even in summarized form, to third parties takes place.
We correct and complete the data we have stored as soon as new information becomes available to us. Where necessary we inform the data recipient of this fact. As a member of a closed user group, you yourself can directly influence the quality of the data.
We delete data we hold in storage on the expiry of the period stipulated by law or by contractual agreement or when such data is no longer needed.
We do not sell or lease personal data to persons or organizations outside Euler Hermes, including user groups or e-mailing lists. Internal use within the company for advertising purposes is permitted unless you have registered your refusal to let your data be so used. Data can be passed on within the Allianz Group for advertising purposes if and when your written consent is included in your application for one of our products. We comply with the limitations stipulated here by the Data Protection Act and competition law.
Measures taken to protect your personal data
Stringent and constantly monitored safety procedures ensure that your personal data are protected at all times.
Handling of E-mails
The E-mail address given by you is used by us to answer your requests for information. If such information is part of our E-mail communication with you as a customer it is sent exclusively in encrypted form. If the content of your message is material to our contractual relationship with you we will store the E-mail concerned.
Please remember before sending us an E-mail unencrypted via your internet provider that the contents of the message are not necessarily protected from reading by unauthorized persons or against falsification etc. while in the internet.
Encryption
We employ an automatic end-to-end encryption procedure in each dialogue via websites of Euler Hermes involving personal data. Encryption length for access data and customer data is at least 128 bits.
Access protection at Euler Hermes
Euler Hermes data processing network is protected outwards by a state-of-the-art firewall system. Euler Hermes internal applications can only be accessed via an access procedure with personal user IDs and passwords for authorized persons. User access rights within the applications are limited by access right verification systems according to the needs of their work function.
Duty of confidentiality
Persons employed in German Euler Hermes companies are, depending on the company they work for, obliged to observe strict confidentiality according to the following laws and regulations
- the bank secret
- the data secret
- the telecommunications secret
- the confidentiality of business and trade information
- personal privacy
- confidentiality concerning social status
- and, where appropriate, insurance confidentiality
Privacy officers are additionally obliged by their professional position to maintain absolute confidentiality.

Control and adaptation of the privacy principles
Open access and closed user groups
As an internet user you have free access to all Euler Hermes public websites. Access to specific areas is restricted to users with special access rights. The reasons are as follows:

Random checks are also carried out on authorized access transactions to determine the nature of the work function involved. The automated processing of personal data by the German Euler Hermes companies is regulated by the appropriate data protection authority.
Adaptation of the privacy principles
When Euler Hermes introduces new products or services or the further development of data protection or IT security technology makes it necessary, this may affect the 'privacy principles'. We therefore reserve the right to alter the principles as needed or to make additions to them. We will make every effort to publish such alterations or additions immediately here. You can check this at any time. The current version is as per 14.02.2008 and is Version 3.1.
